We got our yearly family pictures taken today. Here are some of our favorite shots. Orion was a pill, and kept trying to do funny poses. As a result, we don't have very many cute ones of him.
It all started on Valentines Day. Orion had his 5 year well child check up. He was very healthy, except for one little thing. He has eczema behind his ears, and one of them was cracked open, bleeding, and infected. He got a prescription ointment to put on it twice a day. One week later, Oliver developed a rash on his penis. We are constantlybattling yeast infections with that kid, so I tried some Nystatinfirst. That night, Orion was running a pretty high fever, and ended up throwing up in the middle of the night. The next day, Oilvers rash was 50 times worse. It was also starting to ooze. I KNEW immediately that it was strep. I took him into the doctor. Sure enough, it was a strep infection. Oliver got a prescription for amoxicillin . Orion, while acting like he was feeling better, continued to complain that he was sick. He also developed a terrible cough. Three days later, William hiccuped. He cried for 2 hours that his ear hurt. I was pretty sure he had an ear infection. I took him in the next morning, and yep, he had a double ear infection. 8days later, William was done with his antibiotic, but was still complaining that his ears hurt. He also developed a diaper rash, that I knew to be strep. So, we went back to the doctor. William got a different antibiotic. (He is allergic to amoxicillin.) Orion is still coughing. Oliver is coughing. William is coughing. I am bathing all kids separately, and cleaning the tub out with Clorox in between each bath. 4 days later, Oliver gets another strep infection, this time in his bottom, and in the creases of his legs. So, it is back into the doctors office. This time, I make an appointment for Orion to be seen too. I kept asking him if his throat was sore, but he always said no. I wanted them to run a strep culture anyway. They did. It came back positive. And Oliver had another strep infection. They are both on an antibiotic now too. My doctor says if Philip or I come down with a sore throat, or are feeling under the weather at all, to go in and get checked for strep. As it stands, I am currently giving all three boys medicine twice a day, and crossing my fingers that this time, we kick it.
