Doors of Oportunity

Well, we have entered a new age in the Bainbridge household. Orion has officially succeeded in being able to open a door when ever he wants. I am conflicted on how to feel about this. For the most part, I am in a state of dissapointment. No more sleeping on the couch in the morning thinking all is well, becuase the doors are all shut, and therefore blocking him off from anything he isn't supposed to be into. I have to suddenly remember to lock the bathroom door if I want any privacy, and what about the front door! Normally, I would just lock it, so that he couldn't get out, but he has been locking and unlocking doors for a couple of weeks, so that is out.
On the other hand, I am happy that Orion has learned something new. Now I can say, "Go put this in the bathroom", and I won't have to go along to open the door. Really, I am conflicted about how to feel.

Last night, I had the wonderful opportunity to go out with a couple of friends. I felt like it had been ages since I got to just go our and relax and have girl time. I ate way to much ice cream (I felt incredibly sick by the time I got home), laughed, cried and just enjoyed having friends. I am hoping that now that the crazyness of the holidays is over with, I will be able to have more girls nights out.

Maybe get one of those door locks up high? They also make kid-proof door handle thingies. I don't know, though...Abby can open doors, but our front door we never use much and it's one of those handles with the push button things so she doesn't have that one figured out yet...

I always just sit the kids in front of the TV if I am trying to catch up on a mini-snooze. I'm a great mom, I know. LOL

Phillip isn't strong enough to open the front door. However he can get the storm door open if the other door is open. As for being able to open other doors, just get those childproof door things. Phillip mastered door opening a while ago, but the childproof things have kept him out of the bathroom and anywhere else we don't want him to go. They're wonderful!

It's funny you wanted an Emma Jean....that's what we wanted to name our baby, except we were worried that there might be half a million Emma's in her class. So we figured we'd name her Emmalee Jean, but call her Emma Jean.

Funny you asked about the state of my silverware drawer because I was even going to say on my post-I had JUST cleaned it, otherwise it would have looked yucky!!!
