Family song

Because Orion has ben so sick, I have let him watch an insane amount of tv this last week. His favorite movie to watch right now is an Elmos World dvd we have checked out. I can always tell when the medicine is wearing off, becuase Orion won't sing along with the songs.

Life has been crazy around here this last week. Philips mom and sister have been in town so we have spent a lot of time over at Wandas spending time with them. On the 17th, Orion had a hearing test. His pediatrician said that it would take 1 -2 hours. It took all of 10 minutes. Orions hearing is perfect, and his ears look really good. YEA!! On Wed (18th), I finally got the results from Orions speech evaluation in the mail. He is right wear he should be, or ahead in every area, except speech. There is a 28% delay there, so we will be starting speech therapy sometime next month. I am very hopeful that it will help with our communication.

Wednesday night I had activity days. I am finding that it is taking a lot more patience then I think I have. There were several times during the night when I just had to take a deep breath to keep from yelling. Oh, I need to work on that. Also on Wednesday night, Phil came down with a fever.

Thursday, Philip was still not feeling well, but had a ton to do at work, so went anyway. Orion and I spent the day at Wandas.

Friday morning, we had family pictures taken. Orion did great. He was so well behaved!! We got a lot of great pictures. The ones posted here are just some of our favorites. At one point the photographer wanted a full body shot of Orion standing. She thought it would be really cute for him to have his thumbs in his pockets. Orion just wouldn't stand in one place. Finally I got out a tube of chapstick and told him to put it in his pocket. He held still, but then was so focused on putting the chapstick in his pocket, that he wouldn't do anything else. Afterwords we ran some errands then went to spend the afternoon at Wandas.

Saturday, Phil stayed home, and Orion and I went to Wandas again. I think we have spent more time over there then at our own home!
Sunday morning, Orion woke up with a fever, and Philips fever was pretty high. So, We all stayed home from church. So very very sad. I was so looking forward to going!
Monday morning Orions fever was super high (102.8), so I called the doctor. Normally, I would not have, but knowing how many days Phil was running a fever, I knew pattern, and didn't know if there was something they could do sooner to help it go away quicker. The nurse I talked to I think is new. She told me that unless Orion has been running a fever for at least 3 days, they didn't want to see me. I was kinda annoyed, but only because I felt like she wasn't even listening to what I was telling her. I don't call the doctor for every little sneeze, and the regular nurse knows that, and therefor takes me seriously. By 3:00, I was ready to take him to urgent care. I couldn't get him to drink anything, he only had had one kinda wet diaper, just was not doing well at all. Instead, we went to Wandas, so that Robert and Phil could give Orion a blessing. We went home and put him to bed at 7:30. He didn't sleep well, and at 10:30, woke up crying. I was relieved to see him sweating, and took his temp. It was a beautiful 97.9!! It took a while for him to go back down, but he finally did, and then this morning, still no fever. In fact it is a little low! I have also been able to get him to drink some, and for the first time since Saturday, he is eating a little!! Who needs doctors? ( I don't really mean that, but I am so grateful for the Priesthood!)

Today, mom and Cherstin are heading back to Tennessee, so I am planning a day catching up on everything I have been neglecting for the last week and a half. Philip isn't feeling great still, but he did go to work today. Hopefully, in the next couple of days everyone will be back to their wonderful healthy happy selves. And cross your fingers, I hope I don't get whatever it is!!

What a good and hard couple of days it has been. Orion is really struggling with daylight savings. At least that is what I am telling myself, and desperately hoping that the terrible twos haven't hit. Yesterday Orion and I experimented with chocolate dipped things. We dipped bananas, and strawberries, and Orion tried a carrot. Well, I guess I did the dipping, but Orion put the sprinkles on. We had nuts to go on the bananas too, but he refused to put those on. Just sprinkles. We did about two pounds of strawberries, and they are now all gone. Orion LOVED them!! He eats the banana until it thaws, and gets mushy, then he says it is gross and puts it in the trash. I don't think I will give him anymore of those.

Today Orion sat down at the table to color. He kept saying "toes ball toes toes ". When I finally looked at the pictures he was coloring, I discovered that he was only coloring the toes and balls on all the pictures.

I have recently started a water aerobics class, and am loving it. It doesn't hurt to move in the water, and I feel really invigorated and exhausted afterwords. It is GREAT!!

One of the many reasons

I love living in Wisconsin! I don't know if it is so much Wisconsin it self, or just the small town life. But I really do love all the trees and the mild summers, and the wildlife. Today on my balcony, I got to see a bird I have never seen before. I am not sure what kind it is, but being able to see him, just made me all the more glad that I live where I do.

What a wonderful Sunday.

Yesterday morning, Orion and I sat down and had a small breakfast at 7:00. I wanted him to eat a little bit so that he wouldn't be starving, but I didn't want him to eat too much, because I wanted him to eat a big lunch at 10:00, before we had to leave for church. So I only let him have one bowl of cereal. Usually, I put the cereal away, right after we are done, but for some reason, this time I left my box of Lucky Charms on the counter. I can legitimately call it my box, 'cause no one else likes them. At about 8:30, I went and hopped in the shower. Just as I turned the water off, I heard the sound of rustling plastic. I thought to myself, "Oh no, Orion got into the lucky charms, and now I am going to have a big mess to clean up. Why did I not put them up!?!?!" So I got dressed, and went off to search for the giant mess I was sure I would find. Instead I found this.

Orion pushed a chair over to the counter, opened the cupboard, and got out a half empty bag of egg noodles. He then poored the rest of the bag into a bowl, took the bowl to his room, and was sharing them with my giant frog. It was so cute to stand back and watch him offer a noodle to the frog, and then say "No?" and eat it himself. I couldn't even be mad or annoyed that he was into things he shouldn't have been. He snacked on the noodles for the rest of the day, even trying to share with the frog. We tried to get a decent picture, but everytime the camera comes out, Orion stops what he is doing and runs over to look at the pictures.

Later on, after church I asked Philip if he wanted to play a game. He said yes, but that we should make cookie dough for him to eat first. I don't know why he has been in the mood for cookie dough lately, you would think he was the one who was pregnant. Really, who craves cookie dough? Anyway, Orion helped make it, and then licked the beater. We got a cute picture of that.

Also, after talking to my mom about the troubles I was having finding maternity dresses, she made me one, and sent it to me. It was a wonderful surprise. My ONLY complaint about the dress, is that it makes me look huge! I wore it to church, and people who didn't know I was pregnant, all of a sudden thought I was due any day. But I love that it has sleeves and is long enough that I don't have to wear nylons. Thank you mommy!!
